Restoration of Democratic Norms
A legitimate, people-centred constitutional order, with strong institutions that prevent authoritarian relapse and a government that is transparent and accountable.
- Re-table the 2020 Draft Constitution within the first 100 days, with a clear presidential two-term limit.
- Strengthen the separation of powers, judicial independence and National Assembly oversight.
- Repeal or amend repressive laws on speech, assembly and media, and reform electoral laws.
- Give anti-corruption agencies independent prosecutorial authority.
- Fiscal decentralisation: a guaranteed, formula-based revenue share for local councils.
Revitalising the Economy & Sector Development
Grow the economy faster than debt and move from imports and consumption to productivity, value addition, exports and jobs. Tap a sector to see the key commitments.
Comprehensive Security Sector Reforms
A well-trained, well-equipped and professional security service that respects human rights and stays equidistant from all political entities.
- Restructure security institutions and strengthen civilian oversight.
- Continuous human-rights training and modern security equipment.
- Better welfare and housing for security personnel.
- Community policing, with recruitment based on education, competence and professionalism.
- Independent complaint and oversight bodies, and strict discipline for misconduct.
A Professional & Independent Civil Service
A merit-based, efficient and politically neutral civil service capable of delivering public goods to every Gambian.
- Transparent recruitment, competitive examinations and performance-based promotion.
- Continuous professional training and public leadership development.
- Scale up e-government and fully digitise public records (HRMIS).
- Strengthen the Public Service Commission.
- Enforce codes of conduct, backed by a consequence-management framework.
Implementation, Evaluation & Funding
Implementation is the difference between a manifesto and meaningful change. A strengthened National Delivery Unit in the Office of the President will issue performance contracts and publish progress openly.
